DAY 2 Arrival and overnight in Istanbul, the country’s largest city, is a beguiling cultural blend of East and West. Visit the twin architectural gems of Aya Sofia and the Blue Mosque – masterpieces of Byzantine design, decorated with exquisite inlaid mosaic patterns; take in the lavish quarters and dazzling gem collection of the Topkapi Palace, home to Turkey’s sultans and their families for centuries; or visit the enthralling Basilica Cistern, Istanbul’s ancient water reservoir, now evocatively revamped with ethereal lighting and background music sources.
DAY 3, 4 Johannesburg South Africa. The old city is a multi-cultural mixture of traditional medicine shops, Chinese restaurants, taxi ranks and ultra modern skyscrapers. There are excellent museums, art galleries and organised tours of historical and political interest. The shopping is Southern Africa’s best and the many restaurants cater for all tastes. The nearby township of Soweto is Johannesburg’s most popular tourist attraction.
DAY 5,6,7 - Kruger National Park- The southern area of South Africa’s most famous game reserve, the Kruger National Pak, is separated from lush farmland by the Crocodile River, a popular area to spot crocodiles, playful hippos and thirsty wildlife. The game viewing area is known as the ‘Southern Circle’ and is renowned for its rhinos and lions, with different prides boasting an array of different hunting techniques and behaviours to observe. Near the Hippo Pool, visitors can view ancient San rock paintings. The Southern Kruger offers incredible game-viewing opportunities and magnificent landscapes covered in African bushveld and savannah.
DAY 8,9, 10, 11 - Cape Town South Africa -
Cape Town is a vibrant and cosmopolitan city located on the southwestern coast of South Africa. It is known for its stunning natural beauty, diverse culture, rich history, and a wide range of attractions and activities.
One of the iconic landmarks of Cape Town is Table Mountain, a flat-topped mountain that provides breathtaking views of the city and the surrounding coastline. Visitors can take a cable car or hike to the top of the mountain and enjoy panoramic vistas. The Table Mountain National Park, which includes the mountain and the neighboring Cape Peninsula, offers numerous hiking trails, beautiful beaches, and unique flora and fauna.

Day 2: Casablanca, Rabat, Volubilis & Fes ~ Ancient Heritage & Roman Ruins
After breakfast, depart via the Atlantic coast through Rabat, the capital & very important imperial city of Morocco. Rabat is known for sites that illustrate the Islamic & French colonial heritage. Visit the old town of Rabat, called Oudayas & Kasbah Oudaya (a fortress), located adjacent to the Rabat Medina (old town) on the e Bou Regreg River opposite Sale, a royal fort of the Berber era surrounded by formal Andalusian gardens overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Stop for lunch along the way, continue through Khemisset, & on to visit the Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site & filming location for Scorsese’s The Last Temptation of Christ. Spread out across several acres, the ruins reveal the transformation of the Roman Empire Carthaginian settlement into a typical Roman city devoted to the Roman gods. Continue to your riad (a traditional Moroccan riad, a home with multiple stories centered around an open-air courtyard containing a fountain & garden). Riads were once the estates of the wealthiest citizens; the riads on this tour have been especially selected and have been converted to spectacular boutique hotels.. Day 3: Discovering Fes
After breakfast, visit the cultural capital of Morocco, Fes, founded in the 8th century by Moulay Idriss II, known for the fortified medina of Fez El Bali and one of the largest preserved medieval sites in the world - a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with medieval architecture, lively souks (traditional markets) and old-fashioned traditional atmosphere. Explore the religious schools of the medina, such as the Medersa Bouanina, one of the most beautiful Koranic schools in Fes, dating back to the 14th century, and Musee Nejjarine, both decorated with carved cedar panels and delicate mosaics. Have lunch along the way and discover historic mosques, picturesque gates, a traditional Moroccan tile (Jelliz) factory, and the city’s distinctive and colorful tanneries. Enjoy a dinner of traditional Moroccan cuisine at a local riad or cultural establishment. Return to your riad for the night.. (B, D)
Day 4: Middle Atlas & Rif Mountain Range
Enjoy a trip to the natural forests in Ifran & Imouzar. Cross forests of centuries-old iconic Atlas Cedars & enjoy watching Barbary Macaques of Gibraltar, continue to the village of Midelt. Stop for lunch & continue to your guesthouse to relax before a traditional Moroccan dinner. Overnight at hotel. (B, D)
Day 5: Sahara Desert Adventure
After breakfast, depart to Merzouga,entry to the Sahara Desert, via the village of Er Rachidia & Erfoud, through Tizi Ntalghomt & the Ziz Valley. Stop in Er Rachidia, one of Morocco’s most ancient and famous cities,known as the date capital of Morocco for a couscous presentation through our local lifestyle program, which has been a part of Moroccan tradition for centuries, followed by local music and lunch. Continue to Merzouga and meet your cameleers who will guide you to your desert camp for sunset over the dunes of Erg Chebbi. Enjoy a desert dinner followed by traditional Saharan music around the campfire and night in luxury tents. (B, L, D)
Day 6: Tinejdad Desert Oasis & Todra Gorge
After watching sunrise over the dunes & a traditional breakfast, depart for Skoura via the village of Rissani, cross the vast palm oasis of Tafilalet with many ksours (ancient castles). Visit the khettara aqueducts) near Er Rachidia, part of the nearly 300 km of subsurface irrigation channels excavated beginning in the 14th century. Experience landscapes alternating between huge desert plateaus & oases, such as those of Goulmima. Stop for lunch in Tinghir where you will experience the local lifestyle & visit the traditional adobe architecture of the ancient Jewish quarter of Tinghir. Visit the magnificent Tinejdad palm grove, which stretches 30 miles (48 km). Continue to walk in the impressive valley of Todra Gorge. Arrive at your guesthouse in Skoura, a fertile oasis lined with immense palm groves, in the late afternoon and relax by the pool before dinner at hotel. (B, L, D)
Day 7: The Road of a Thousand Kasbahs & Crossing the High Atlas Mountains
After breakfast, depart early morning for Marrakech through the Rose Valley, Ait Said, Tourbist & Tamalout to reach the village of Bou-Thahrar. Pass through the home of Morocco’s Rose Festival, El Kelâa M’Gouna (commonly referred to as the Valley of Roses). Continue along the road of many kasbahs & visit Noor Solar Facility in Ouarzazate, largest of its kind in the world, then on to visit the stunning Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, for a photo opportunity. Continue through the Ounila Valley, a part of the main caravan route from sub-Saharan Africa to Marrakech. Have lunch, visit the famous Kasbah Telouet, one of the former residences of Pacha Glaoui, one of the best examples of Islamic architecture in Morocco. Cross the High Atlas Mountain Pass of Tizi-n-Tichka to arrive Marrakech in the afternoon. Continue to your boutique hotel before dinner. (B, D)
Day 8: Marrakech ~ Behind the Doors Culture Tour
After breakfast, visit Jardins Marjorelle, built by painter Jacques Marjorelle & the former home of Yves St. Laurent & its spectacular Berber Museum. Visit Saadian Tombs & Bahia Palace. Learn about Moorish architecture. Lunch enroute. Explore local culture & a tour of the daily life of Moroccan people through a “behind the doors” culture tour: a visit to a communal bakery, walk through a local food market & visit a traditional hammam & fondouk (a historic trading place for merchants from across North Africa) & the recently renovated Medersa Ben Youssef, the largest Medersa in Morocco dating back to the founding of Morocco 1,000 years ago. Take in the sites at Jemma el Fna, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which for centuries has been an incredible world of native theater: snakes, musicians, dancers, storytellers & fortune-tellers. After breakfast, depart for Casablanca & explore it’s most emblematic points: Hassan II Mosque, the 2nd largest mosque in the world including minarets 690 feet high, open to non-Muslims. Visit the seaside Boulevard de la Corniche for lunch, a walking tour of Mohamed V & United Nations Squares & stop at Royal Palace for a Farewell Dinner at Rick’s Café.. Overnight at your guesthouse. Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Cairo, Egypt Welcome to Cairo, Egypt’s magnificent capital. Upon arrival at Cairo Airport, you will be met & assisted through customs and formalities by one of our representatives. Afterwards, you visit Manial Palace, which was created over a 100 years ago for Prince Mohammed Ali. You will be taken to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, where you will see the history of Egypt from pre-historic times to modern times, including seeing the mummies of the most powerful of Pharaohs & Queens. In the evening, you will be transferred to your hotel, then taken to see the Sound & Light Show at the Pyramids with Dinner. (D)
Day 2: Experiencing the Last Wonder of the World This morning, after enjoying a delicious breakfast, we will embark on your journey to experience the world’s most iconic sights, the Great Pyramids of Giza & the Great Sphinx. A private guide, driver & expert Egyptologist will take you to see the first & only surviving wonder from the 7 Wonders of the World. Arrive at the pyramids by came. You will have the opportunity to take excellent photos, go inside the largest pyramid (optional add-on). After that, have lunch at a renowned restaurant near the Great Pyramids, before diving into the ancient land of Saqqara. Day 3: Experience Cairo's Treasures After breakfast, you will be taken to the New Grand Egyptian Musuem, where you will experience the world’s greatest collection of artifacts & antiquities, including King Tut's collection! Then, we'll experience Old Cairo by stopping by the Hanging Church, one of the oldest Christian religious sites in Egypt, a grand church beautifully designed with the ornate interior decorated with bones and ivory inlaid designs. We’ll grab lunch while walking through Al-Muizz Al-Deen Allah Street, the main street through the Fatimids grand city that offers the greatest density of significant Islamic monuments of anywhere in the world to this day. After that, we’ll take you shopping at the world's oldest bazaar market, Khan El-Khalili. (B,L)
LUXOR
Day 4: Flight to Luxor, the Largest Open-Air MuseumBefore boarding your cruise ship, you'll enjoy a delicious breakfast. Then, board your cruise ship to have lunch. After that, your private guide will lead you to explore the East Bank of the Nile, home to some of Egypt's most spectacular sites. You will visit the Karnak Temple complex, strolling along the Avenue of Sphinxes to enter the complex. The Karnak Temple complex was the center of ancient faith and makes up the history of Thebes, consisting of colossal sandstone columns transported 100 miles along the Nile river. You will also be seeing Luxor Temple, which during the Roman era, was also known as “Southern Sanctuary” to ancient Egyptians, served as a legionary fortress and acted as the home of the Roman government in the area. Day 5: Entering the Magnificent Tombs of the Kings & Queens After breakfast, before exploring the famous Valley of the Kings and Queens to explore the site where the tombs of 64 of Egypt's notable Pharaohs can be found carved out of solid rock, alongside the legendary Tomb of Tutankhamun. Then, explore Deir El-Bahari Hatshepsut's Temple Complex, a grand temple built into cliffs that carries one of the most powerful and successful Pharaoh Queens. After that, you'll conclude the day's adventure with a visit to the Colossi of Memnon, the massive twin statues that are the only remaining monuments of Amenhotep III's temple. In the early afternoon, you will begin your sail to Esna, where you will have time to relax before the Captain’s Welcome Cocktail Party in the evening. (B,LD)
ASWAN
Day 6: Exploring the Grand Temples After breakfast, you will reunite with your private guide & disembark from your cruise ship to explore the Temple of Horus in Edfu, dedicated to Horus, the falcon god. The Temple of Horus, the second largest temple in Egypt after Karnak Temple, was built from 230 to 57 BC by Ptolemy III & his successors, considered the best preserved cult temple in Egypt due to its later construction date. You will then sail to Kom Ombo where you will visit the Kom Ombo Temple, a Greco-Roman temple dedicated to Haroeris (the sun god) & Sobek (the crocodile god), the latter considered by some ancient Egyptians to be the creator of the world. In the evening, you will enjoy a Galabaya party ( a cultural experience). (B,L,D)
Day 7: Cruising through the Wonders of Aswan After enjoying breakfast this morning, you will begin your quest to the impressive Aswan High Dam, a marvel of engineering when it was constructed to help manage the yearly floods that used to devastate Egypt. You will also be able to see the Granite Queries of Aswan, which were used by the ancient Egyptians for their sculptures and obelisks. Later, you will be taken to the enchanting Temple of Philae which is situated on the Philae Island that was saved by UNESCO's rescue project during the building of the Aswan High Dam. After lunch, you will sail by felucca around Kitchener's Island and Aga Khan Mausoleum. In the evening, you will visit the world famous, Sofitel Old Cataract Hotel to have afternoon tea (at own cost). This hotel has hosted Churchill, Agatha Christie, and Princess Diana as its guests. Day 8: Eating with a Local Family and Abu Simbel Wake up to an early morning experience you wouldn't want to miss, the Abu Simbel Temples (UNESCO World Heritage Site), the grand twin temples of Ramses II and Queen Nefertari (about a 3 hour drive). You will leave early in the morning to drive to Abu Simbel and be back in the early afternoon. You will then experience and enjoy a late Lunch with a Nubian family before checking into your hotel. Day 9: Flight to Cairo After having breakfast, we’ll take you to the airport to catch your flight to Cairo. You will be met with your guide and a representative at the airport and be taken to your hotel. Afterwards, you will have the rest of the day as a free day. If you'd like, we can add on experiences, such as a day trip to Alexandria, an Emperor's Mediterranean Dream city.
